Homosexuality and the Campaign for Immorality – Pastor John MacArthur

Homosexuality and the Campaign for Immorality – Pastor John MacArthur

“…the wrath that is being referred to in Romans 1 isn’t any of those; it is the wrath of abandonment. The wrath described here is the wrath that is executed when – according to verses 24, 26, and 28 – God gives them over, gives them over, gives them over. In other words, it’s when God abandons a nation. It’s when God abandons a society and gives them over to the consequences of their behavior which is escalating iniquity and disaster, leading to judgment. “This wrath of God is released from heaven, revealed from heaven” – verse 18 says – “against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth.” And he goes on to say they all have the truth; the truth is visible from creation – you can know something of God and His nature – and from the heart. Romans 2says the Law of God is written in the heart.

And the good news, as shared in this message, is Jesus saves sinners. No matter what walk of life, blind eyes can be opened by the Grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pray for those who are lost that they may come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Many have come out of this lifestyles into a new life in Christ. We are all born in sin. Jesus tells us that we must be born again. The old life will no longer matter. The new life in Christ is the beginning of eternal peace with God.

May God bless you as you hear and read His Word today.

Learning to Love Like the Savior – Paul Twiss

Professor Twiss, a prior professor of mine at The Master’s University, preached a sermon on Learning to Love Like the Savior at Grace Community Church earlier this year. In my daily devotion today on 1 Cor 13:4-7, further reading pointed to 1 John 3. This reminded me of this sermon. I pray you will blessed as you hear from the Word of the Lord in this message today.

1 John 3:11–18 (NASB95):

11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.
13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.
15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.

Luke 11:1-4 (ESV)

Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say:

“Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.”

Saved or Self-Deceived – John MacArthur

An important message from the book of Matthew by Grace Community Church pastor-teacher John MacArthur.

“Here are the words of our Lord Jesus Himself. And they are stunning words, shocking words, and tragic words.” John MacArthur

Matthew 7:21-27 (ESV)

21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ 24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
